Cultures of Soul had a great time in LA although we packed a lot into our one week visit. Here is a small recap of some of the fun we had!
Our visit started with a guest spot on Michael Barnes’ great radio show, the Melting Pot on 90.7 FM KPFK. We had a chance to spin some rare records and get into the nitty gritty of what makes Cultures of Soul Records tick. The full show will be broadcast in early November. We’ll post the link here in the near future.
Then Saturday we headed over to Montebello for the grand reopening of the Record Jungle! And as you can see it was a jungle in there. But after some heavy digging for $2 records we found some nice gems!
That night we headed over to LA’s best funk and soul night, Funky Sole at the Echo! Clifton nicely booked us to spin on the outdoor patio! Good times were had by all.
Fast forward to a few days and we met up with British ex-pat Greg Belson to hang out, discuss records, and do some trades.
